By creating an account or using Vigil, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Description of service
Vigil is a health tracking platform for pets with chronic conditions, including diabetes, allergies, arthritis, IBD, IMHA, seizures, and weight management. It allows pet owners to log health data, generate reports, and share records with veterinary professionals. Veterinary accounts allow practitioners to view enrolled patients' records.
Not medical advice
Vigil is an informational tool only. Nothing on this platform constitutes veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated summaries are intended to assist communication with your veterinarian and should not be used as a substitute for professional veterinary judgment. All clinical decisions should be made by a licensed veterinarian.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
Your data
You retain ownership of all health data, photos, and videos you upload to Vigil. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data as necessary to provide the service. When you share records with a veterinary practice, you authorize them to view that data until you revoke access.
Veterinary accounts
Veterinary users must be licensed veterinary professionals or authorized staff. Veterinary accounts may view patient records only for pets enrolled at their practice. Access to patient data is governed by the pet owner, who may revoke it at any time.
Acceptable use
You may not use Vigil to upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content. You may not attempt to access other users' accounts or data. You may not use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Deletion is permanent and removes all associated data including pet profiles, health records, photos, and videos. Veterinary access to your pets' records will be revoked immediately upon account deletion.
Limitation of liability
Vigil is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to decisions made based on data or summaries provided by the platform. In no event shall our liability exceed the amount you have paid for the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Vigil after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page.
